Job Duties:
The Neuroscience Coordinator (Stroke Coordinator) is responsible for the coordination and maintenance of a comprehensive Neuroscience/Stroke program that complies with National standards for quality of care for neuro/stroke patients as dictated by the American Heart Association (AHA), and stroke programs that meet or exceed recommendations of regulatory agencies such as ACHC/The Joint Commission, governmental regulation for Medicare Compliance, and established evidence based best practices. Responsible for ongoing program management for neuro/stroke patients across the continuum of care from patient arrival or identification of symptoms through discharge.
Qualifications:
Current Indiana RN license or willing to obtain.
Graduate of an accredited BSN program required.
Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or willing to obtain within 3 years of hire date.
At least three (3) year's clinical experience in an acute care setting required.
BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA, ARC, or AHSI.
ACLS required or willing to obtain within 12 months of hire.
Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nursing Specialty Certification, and/or Lean Process Improvement Certification preferred.
Certification in neuroscience nursing, stroke nursing, or related certification preferred.
Bedside nursing with acute neuroscience or stroke care preferred.
