We are seeking a Construction Management intern for the summer of 2022 to join our Construction team!

The Construction intern will be supporting the Project Manager and Construction crew working throughout the Chicago area. This role will be located at our Lombard, Illinois office.

The successful Construction intern is willing to learn Milhouse procedures, has reliable transport and will have the opportunity to travel to construction sites with a supervisor. You will also learn how to successfully interpret construction plans/drawings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Helping prepare submittals
• Submittal reviews
• Field measurement coordination
• Minute taking
• Field quality inspection
• Introduction to reading plans, drawings, and blue prints
• Working directly with Project Managers
• Close-out phases
• Will learn how to use industry-specific technical language

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to use a computer, the Internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and email
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
• Ability to work safely in a construction environment
• Strong communications skills
• Proactive behavior
• Team player
• Demonstrates willingness to listen to other opinions
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required

Education and Experience:

• At least two years of college experience
• Working towards a major in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or alike
