Overview:
The Automotive Intern will work closely with the Car Management & Distribution and Operations Research groups within the Automotive Department and will help support the group in daily management of TTXs Automotive Fleet and assist with special projects. The teams intern will gain experience in both tactical railcar distribution understanding the networks car flows and operational constraints as well the strategic framework underpinning the Auto Fleet in new car acquisitions, network planning, and fleet size modeling.
The Automotive Internship will last for the summer and start in May or June 2021.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with equipment distribution, preparation and support for key industry meetings.
- Assist with the production of effective daily/weekly/monthly business reporting to monitor fleet performance, and other projects as directed.
- Suggest improvements where opportunities exist.
- Support for Automotives contributions to industry MPEC, Reload, Reload subcommittee, and TTX board meetings.
- Other various projects in support of improving the Automotive teams efficiency, productivity, and overall success.
Projects the intern will work on:
- Tactical Distribution
- Strategic / Operations Research
- Project of interns choice (in line with Automotive management key objectives and priorities)
Internship Goals:
- LEARN: Gain a firm understanding of how Automotive railcar distribution works as well as how the Auto fleet supports and contributes to TTXs overall success.
- LEAD: Design, develop, and implement a project intended to improve Automotives long-term strategic value to the Fleet Department (and TTX) with guidance and direction from TTX Automotive management.
- DEVELOP: Make the most of your experience by developing your professional skills, meeting key TTX employees and fellow interns, and learning more about TTXs culture & organization and how we support the rail industry.
Qualifications:
- Major(s): Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Communications, Finance, Accounting, and other relevant business-oriented degrees.
- Year in school: Completed at least 2 years at an accredited college/university.
