Job Description

Rate of pay for an experienced Maintenance Technician is $35.70 per hour. Plus night premium is another $.50 for second and third shifts. Most positions will start either on 2nd or 3rd (Monday through Friday) and the hours are 2:45 pm. to 11:15 p.m. or 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.

Maintenance Technicians install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures as well as pipe and electrical systems. This requires following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings. It also requires the use of hand tools to repair, as well as test machinery and equipment to inspect and ensure proper functioning of machines. This is an advanced position that involves considerable knowledge of the varied machines and equipment noted under the principal duties and responsibilities section. All positions are responsible for contributing to a safe work place and minimizing negative environmental impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, and work instructions outlined in the training assessment for this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains production equipment and machinery in all parts of the plant, ensuring that this equipment functions to specification. The repair of machine breakdowns occurs on a continuous basis. Have working knowledge of the equipment and processes.
  • Implements the Preventative Maintenance Program, which includes performing required scheduled maintenance on all machines, as well as following Manufactures suggested maintenance schedules. This occurs on a regular basis.
  • Maintenance of non-production and other facility equipment on an as needed basis.
  1. Compressors
  2. Shop repairs (Mechanical and Electrical)
  3. Online PLC troubleshooting and programming
  4. Computer literacy
  5. Basic Fabrication (Welding, Metal Work)
  6. Machining (Lathe & Milling operations/fabrication in Prototype)
  • Installs new equipment, performs safe Rigging and Moving equipment operation. Works on special projects as indicated by the Maintenance Manager.

We are looking for someone with Journeyman Maintenance status, or equivalent of approximately four to ten years prior experience as a Maintenance Technician. Additional numerical control or computerized numerical control machine experience is desirable along with hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience. A Highschool diploma or GED is preferred. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. APTITUDES

The following aptitudes are needed in at least a medium degree, ranging from slightly below to slightly above average as compared to the normal population:

  • Intelligence/general learning ability.
  • Verbal/ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.
  • Numerical/ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.
  • Motor coordination/ability to coordinate eyes, hands or fingers rapidly and accurately to make precise moments.
  • Finger dexterity/ability to move fingers and manipulate small objects with the fingers rapidly and/or accurately.

The higher degree of aptitude is needed, as would be found in the highest third (exclusive of the top 10%) of the population:

  • Clerical perception/ability to perceive pertinent detail in verbal or tabular material.
  • Eye-hand-foot coordination/ability to move hand and foot with each other in accordance with visual stimuli.
  • Color discrimination/ability to perceive similarities or differences in colors, shades, or contrasting combinations.
