Job Description

Job Description:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing quality engineering support for the benefit of internal and external customers. Measures, analyzes, and improves processes and product supporting a continuous improvement environment to increase overall customer satisfaction.

    Responsibilities

    • Complete action plans resolving customer complaints and internal quality issues

    • Identify process and product improvements utilizing various methods of evaluation

    • Document standard operational procedures with a Lean Manufacturing philosophy

    • Train personnel to established procedures and instructions

    • Manage supplier quality to ensure acceptable performance and response to identified opportunities

    • Document and effectively resolve quality-related issues identified during manufacture and assembly

    • Identify the need for formal internal and supplier corrective actions

    • Champion the Non-Conforming Material Review system and associated procedures

    • Assist leading the Internal Audit program

    • Assist in maintaining control of the Quality System documents

    • Assure accurate and precise information is collected for continuous improvement analysis

    • Assist in maintaining valuable quality and process-related communications to all employees

    • Other duties, as required

    Position Qualifications & skills

    • 4-year engineering degree, or equivalent experience

    • Must have experience in project management

    • Must have a functional understanding of the ISO 9001:2000 standard

    • Must have a fundamental understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles

    • Must be able to work independently, and within a team

    • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time

    • Must have excellent problem-solving skills

    • Must be able to evaluate product and process change requests to ensure product quality is not compromised

    • Must to able to use precision measuring tools

    • Must be able to champion tasks to completion utilizing cross-functional resources

    • Must be able to operate a forklift

    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

    In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
