We are looking for a Business Development Manager, Commercial Vehicle Channelthatis responsible for generating the assigned sales volumes in a defined territory for the commercial vehicle Aftermarket business. In this role, the BDM will make sales calls on a variety of customers (Warehouse Distributors, Retail, OES, Fleets) in the assigned territory, while providing field sales force training and coaching to improve sales techniques and product knowledge in support of the DRiV product portfolio. As needed, provides complete information regarding company policies and programs. This position will be based remotely and report through the Commercial Vehicle segment of the DRiV Specialty Products organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical sales support for the development of the on-highway and off-highway commercial vehicle products business.
  • Keeps current on all pertinent aspects of the national and regional aftermarket industry, including competitive and collaboration activities. Communicates new information back through the organization.
  • Actively participates in principal trade association meetings, trade shows, conventions, etc. with the ability to speak at appropriate association meetings.
  • Responsible for regular Market Summary Report derived from active account tracking in DRiV CRM tool and distributor operations.
  • Manages travel and entertainment according to DRiV Motorparts travel policy and submits an expense report at least once per month.
  • Makes sales development contacts with major customers and prospects.
  • Establishes a planned, segmented coverage with identified priority distributors within the region to increase market share, and to improve demand creation activities.
  • Is able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency with application of industry products. Ability to translate product features and advantages to customer benefits.
  • Coordinates sales training activities to assure resources and execution of annual distributor sales force needs.
  • Maintains a professional business relationship with all necessary Distributor personnel with emphasis on assisting in the attainment of goals/objectives and reviews progress monthly.
  • Coordinates resolution of field issues with the Customer Care team.

EDUCATION:Bachelor's Degree required in related program, or equivalent experience

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years field sales experience in a sales-driven, quality-oriented organization.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial Vehicle Market and Products (Suspension, Braking Systems, Wheel End, Exhaust/Emissions, Engine Systems).
  • Proven success in managing and leading a sales force that sells a broad as well as complex product line.
  • Proven experience networking with and influencing decision makers.
  • Proven success in consistently exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to drive decision makers to DRiV sales solutions
  • Previous success as a strategic sales thinker and an outstanding communicator with a record of executing sales plans
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to a changing organization
  • Strong communication skills, both in writing and presentations, leveraging technology
  • Fluent in Spanish/English
  • Must have excellent listening skills in delivering customer requested solutions
  • Ability to achieve established sales objectives
  • High learning curve when it comes to gaining knowledge of new and existing product lines and solutions
  • Ability to use, demonstrate, stay current and drive technology trends internally and externally
  • Background in use of Salesforce and Power BI a plus

Must be able to transfer and lift up to 50 lbs. of product
