The Environmental Law & Policy Center (ELPC) seeks to hire a part time development intern, to work 15 hours per week. We are looking for an outgoing, fearless and enthusiastic student who is passionate about fundraising for the protection of and advocacy for the environment.

LOCATION: This internship will be based at ELPC's headquarters in Chicago, IL with an in-person requirement of 4 hours per week on either Tuesday or Wedensday. The remaining weekly work hours may be performed remotely..

DURATION: February 13 - June 16, 2023

INTERNSHIP REMUNERATION: This is a paid internship with an hourly rate of $15.40.

About ELPC:

We show that environmental progress and economic development can be achieved together by putting sustainability principles into practice. We advance climate solutions effectively by accelerating clean renewable energy alternatives to conventional power plants and advancing clean transportation solutions. We protect the Great Lakes and defend the Midwest's wild and natural places, and we fight for safe, clean water and healthy clean air for all. We combine effective public interest litigation with strategic policy advocacy, sound science, and economic analysis. ELPC produces strong results for the environment in the courtrooms, boardrooms, and legislative hearing rooms across the pivotal Midwest states and in Washington D.C.

Responsibilities:

• Writing and editing informative and compelling correspondence to donors
• Engaging in prospect research to identify qualified prospects and prepare information to support an initial outreach.
• Exposure to database management for accuracy and updateD donor records
• Executing a variety of critical administrative tasks for a high-functioning development team.
• In addition, interns have a great opportunity to assume an increased level of responsibility commensurate with their interests and abilities.

Qualifications:

Must be currently enrolled in an undergrad or graduate school and possess a flair for dealing with people, coupled with good organization and writing skills. In addition, a demonstrated interest in and commitment to public interest and environmental causes.

Special Requirements:

Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required during events like our 30th anniversary gala
