Position Responsibilities
  • Must have knowledge of aerial, buried and underground medium voltage distribution systems.
  • Must have thorough understanding of primary parts of shielded, solid dielectric medium voltage cable.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans.
  • Must be able to keep accurate records of information pertaining to job assignments and interact with site management to report all changes or alterations to original job duties.
  • Must be able to identify appropriate clearances from other utilities on poles, structures, common trenches and underground duct systems.
  • Responsible for safe operation of bucket trucks and other heavy equipment as may be introduced.
  • Must have the ability to recognize and report potentially dangerous work sites.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future
  • Completion of accredited electrician or lineman apprenticeship training program
  • Desired but not required, Certification as a High Voltage Cable Splicer by the National Cable Splicer Certification Board (NCSCB)
