JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the set-up and start-up of production jobs as required to meet schedules and customer commitments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to setup and adjust tooling for forging and prepare setup and spare tooling baskets and support production.
  • Read Gauges and die control standards strong math skills.
  • Set up and tear down forge die sets.
  • Make adjustments to forge tooling. Maintains cycle process integrity with the direction of the production supervisor
  • Works with support department to ensure tools, machines and processes are optimized
  • Recommends and implements changes and improvements to cycles, processes and procedures to maintain schedules and quality parts
  • Maintain documentation and paperwork to support production cycles and procedures
  • Works directly with process technicians to suggest improvements in processes and procedures
  • Works with machine operators to improve current processes and procedures
  • Performs set-ups, samples and other production related duties to maintain production schedules
  • Assists with training as necessary
  • Ability to read machine dial gauges, blueprints and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts
  • Follow safety policies and report unsafe working conditions
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor, such as operating production line

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:

  • Solid knowledge of metrics and blueprints
  • Must also be able to use precision instruments.
  • Must be able to drive forklift.
  • Read Gauges and die control standards strong math skills.
  • Must be able to work in a very fast-paced environment.
  • JDE Edwards experience (not required)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience working with dies and punches helpful.
  • Prior die shop experience a plus.
  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • High School Diploma
