Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analytical Engineer Associate capable of performing analysis using tools such as; FTIR, thermal analytical methods (DSC, TGA, TMA), chromatography, and other ASTM, ISO, and IPC test methodologies in a Materials Laboratory setting.
  • Experience with non-metallic materials utilized in electrical and electronic equipment and devices, such as; insulation films, coatings, encapsulants, adhesives, plastics, etc.
  • Duties include the set up, running, and calibration of test equipment, sample preparation for tests, and data collection.
  • Must follow an organized process for receiving work requests, analyzing materials as required, writing technical reports, and disposing of waste product in a safe manner.
  • Interface with engineering on all analysis activities also required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Chemistry or Material Science background and 1 to 5 years of experience in materials evaluation, preferably with non-metallic materials used in electrical and/or electronic applications.
  • Familiarity with analytical test methodologies, such as FTIR, thermal analytical methods (DSC, TGA, TMA), chromatography, and other ASTM, ISO, and IPC test methodologies.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills, organizational and problem solving skills, and safety mindset.

Desired Qualifications:

  • AS or Minor in Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Polymer Science, or Metallurgy and 1 to 5 years of experience in materials evaluation, preferably with non-metallic materials used in electrical and/or electronic applications.
  • Familiarity with analytical test methodologies, such as FTIR, thermal analytical methods (DSC, TGA, TMA), chromatography, and other ASTM, ISO, and IPC test methodologies.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills, organizational and problem solving skills, and safety mindset.
