What you'll do

As the Assistant Quality Assurance Manager Title for (A Shyft Group Brand) based at our facility in , you will enjoy overseeing the activity of the quality supervisors and staff and will be accountable for developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for Utilimaster's products and development processes.

You will also be focused on ensuring that Utilimaster products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.

You will also:

  • Supervise the Quality Supervisors and their subordinates
  • Hire and train quality supervisor staff
  • Assist with mentoring quality associates
  • Support positive team collaboration
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations
  • Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the quality assurance department
  • Oversee and participate in the corrective action processes (CART, PSR, SCAR) related to supplier issues
  • Examine quality data and utilize formal problem-solving methodologies and tools
  • Conduct internal and supplier quality system audits
  • Support internal quality supplier containment activities
  • Communicate quality standards and parameters to the QA and product development teams
  • Coordinate product testing processes and participates in product testing
  • Identify and examine issues, bugs, defects, and other problems when problems recur
  • Recommend and facilitate solutions to quality issues
  • Review feedback from client, customer, and users
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies

What you need to be successful
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering
  • 5 years' minimum experience with quality management systems (QMS)
  • Expertise in root-cause analysis, containment & continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of automotive quality requirements with broad manufacturing expertise
  • Familiarity with production line manufacturing in the areas of fabrications, castings, forging, precision machined components, and stampings
  • Versed in ISO/QS 9000, SQA, QE, dimension inspection, and production quality control
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • A reputation for being attentive to detail
  • Proven time management skills and a track record of meeting deadlines
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
