Development Coordinator

University of Notre Dame

The University of Notre Dame () is accepting applications for a Development Coordinator.

Applications will be accepted until 03/15/2024.

* Join our growing team in University Relations at Notre Dame! *

Welcome to the Development Offices of the University Relations (UR) Division at Notre Dame. With its unique exposure to leadership, opportunities to shine, and plenty of ways to connect with people who care about Notre Dame both on and off campus, you will find Development is a great place for your next career step.

On the Development team, collaboration is the key to success. The Development Coordinator (DC) role is part of the career stream of a large team working with Regional Development. Regional Development is focused on securing financial support from individual benefactors worldwide through six- to eight-figure gifts to build a positive legacy for the students, community, and global mission of the Notre Dame.

In the DC role, you will work closely in partnership with your portfolio of Regional Director fundraisers in addition to many Development and campus partners. You will become an integral part of the team of dynamic, strong, fun, committed, and supportive colleagues and the leadership team. No two days, Directors, or Notre Dame benefactors are the same: if you love a fast-paced environment, juggling priorities and projects, and engaging diverse audiences, colleagues, and constituents - you'll love this job.

Key Aspects of the Role:
  • Enhance relationships with donors and benefactors by interacting directly with them in concert with Regional Director fundraisers.
  • Help identify, cultivate, and steward benefactors at targeted giving levels.
  • Initiate documentation and track all stages of each gift.
  • Maintain records and contact reports in the benefactor information system.
  • Build profiles with historical information and philanthropic preferences, and participate in strategy creation and execution. Address donor needs and find timely solutions.
  • Help your Regional Directors understand the University's needs compatible with the benefactor's personal priorities in order to aid in significant solicitations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other Development Coordinators to optimize best practices in reporting and donor relations.
  • Plan complex travel arrangements including air, hotel, car, and meal reservations.
  • Prepare, track, and reconcile travel and expense reports.
  • Manage expenditures & budgets.

Work environment
Must live in the South Bend Region. Based in South Bend, IN, this role is typically 40 hours/week but sometimes requires additional hours for operational needs, for example, during Notre Dame Football home games. Since Development is a highly dynamic environment, the teams provide hybrid work options to work remotely locally and in the office each week.
