What you'll do

As the Plant Manager for (A Shyft Group Brand) based at our facility in , you will be enjoy planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people for the facility.

In addition, your direct reports in this role will include the EHS Coordinator, EHS Manager, Quality Manager, Production Control Manager, Production Manager, Production Supervisor, Scheduler, Continuous Improvement Coordinator, and SPS Specialist.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Creating the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment at all levels to drive measurable results while overseeing and executing all safety requirements and cautions
  • Managing the production reporting to ensure accurate information flow for labor, inventory accuracy quality, and manufacturing costs
  • Evaluating technological developments, investigating the feasibility of new equipment and techniques
  • Providing dependable cost estimates and supporting financial analysis
  • Directing the deployment of common manufacturing-related core procedures
  • Developing the future state value stream map and managing the plans to achieve it
  • Integrating operations data with the customers to provide end-to-end visibility
  • Overseeing the development of systems and tools to provide online access to status for the customers
  • Managing all new product launches and ensuring that all deliverables are met
  • Meeting with value stream managers to identify problems, solutions, and action plans
  • Creating a culture of continuous improvement and learning
  • Ensuring that standardized processes are followed and that countermeasures are implemented
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring the plant budget and managing expenses
  • Instilling and maintaining a positive can-do team atmosphere
  • Ensuring that Production Supervisors are delivering effective cross-training for employees, including backups, to ensure continuous levels of required support
  • Developing, maintaining, and communicating the results of the KPIs to stakeholders
  • Continually improving processes by investigating changes in manufacturing methods
  • Staying current on activities regarding your team, identifying problems, and taking corrective actions
  • Ensuring customers receive timely commitment dates and that we consistently meet or exceed expectations

What you need to be successful
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience managing teams within a fast-paced and complex manufacturing environment
  • Exceptional leadership and team development skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Track record of handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines
  • A reputation for having sound judgment with the ability to make timely, and sometimes difficult, decisions
  • Versatile, flexible, and the willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
