The Director- PLM supports global business strategies and operations by taking the lead on design, delivery, monitoring, and maintenance of end-to-end Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process. Develops and implements solutions to enable more efficient operations and faster, more effective achievement of business strategies and goals. Works closely with Business Leads and IT, along with other internal and external partners to develop and maintain in-depth understanding of business needs and objectives in both business and technology realms.

You will lead the PLM implementation team of both direct and indirect reports, which involves managing other people leaders and setting the short- and long-range strategies, plans, and infrastructure development for PLM in Solenis.

Defines how Solenis executes the PLM process, from initiation of a new product to changes, extensions, and discontinuations, as well as continuous and quality improvement, regulatory changes, production transfers, phase-out(s), synergies, and unplanned events. Coordinates the activities of the entire process and is responsible for the team's results, including staffing, methods, quality, compliance, and costs. Identifies, recommends, forecasts, and manages resources to deliver against assigned work, including projects and ongoing support to assigned technologies. Leads continuous improvement efforts such as SOPs, business processes, and other tools that impact and improve the PLM teams ways of working. Plays a key role in setting and maintaining the culture within the team and broader Supply Chain organization. The position will report to the VP of Inventory & Planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Partnership: Partner with functional leaders in Supply Chain, Product Management, IT Technology, Product Regulatory and Manufacturing to deliver timely implementation of new or changing products.
  • Strategy: Contribute towards organizations objectives, priorities, and goals, implementing automation, evolving operations, optimizing enablement, and building engagement analytics.
  • Management: Oversee PLM Supply Chain group including employees and contractors and improve customer experience, and speed to market.
  • Improve Speed to Value: Invest in cloud-first business architecture, ensuring scalability.
  • Data & Analytics: Develop metrics to improve overall portfolio management, PLM and tactical processes supporting product introduction and change management.

Job Functions

  • Advises business and IT leaders on future-state industry/domain evolutions and opportunities.
  • Leads IT initiatives and operations, including cross-functional process improvement projects.
  • Acts as a global lead on large-scale Supply Chain projects and own material master data globally.
  • Manages global portfolio reporting structure and oversees regular data governance processes.
  • Oversees daily operations for PLM, adjusts processes to meet business objectives in a changing environment of requirements.
  • Develops and deploys policies and procedures in compliance with ISO 9001 registration and participates in internal/external audits.
  • Leads PLM and material management function for mergers, acquisitions, SAP, and process improvement projects.
  • Sets the short- and long-range technical strategy, objectives, and work plans for PLM.
  • Leads a team of direct reports and may manage other people leaders.
  • Hires, develops, and retains diverse top talent and sets clear and elevating goals for entire team.
  • Manages vendor deliverables associated with own area.
  • Leads or otherwise participates in special projects to advance capabilities, ways of working, and other continuous improvements.
  • Ensures team and assigned work comply with established practices, policies, processes and regulatory or other requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with extensive, relevant experience (10+ years).
  • Extensive experience leading teams and IT projects with a focus on Supply Chain, materials data management, and product lifecycle management.
  • Expert experience in relevant platforms (SAP, PLMP) as well as other PLM industry systems.
  • Broad experience supporting IT integrations for mergers/acquisitions, cross functional platform changes, and cloud transformations.
  • Track record of participation and thought leadership in external forums/associations or other entities that influence the direction of IT projects.
  • Advanced business acumen.
  • Strong leadership presence with demonstrated ability to lead without authority and influence senior-level management.
  • Ability to travel 10-20%
  • Remote
