Job Description

SUMMARY

Sets up and operates cell manufacturing and test equipment in order to produce final product. Inspects parts as needed for product quality. Performs standard work and uses process control methods to complete the manufacturing process. Performs routine preventative maintenance on tools and equipment. Reads and interprets all process documents, follows detailed procedures and maintains applicable records. Assists in training of new associates on standard processes within manufacturing, changeovers and inspection. Communicates cell production issues to Production Team Leader and/or other team members. Interfaces with purchasing, engineering, and customer service as needed to deliver product to meet customer expectations. Willingness to work in numerous capacities, ranging from molding, machine operating, assembly, potting, washing, painting, inspecting, and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reads and interprets diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements and/or assembly instructions. Selects, aligns, and secures tooling, accessories, and materials on machines, such as hydraulic presses, burnish/test machines, assembly fixtures, air or electric power tools and magnetizers. Enters appropriate settings and adjusts and calibrates equipment as needed for the assigned production order. Records production and operational data on specified forms or within specified data-tracking systems. Performs quality checks on products and parts. Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers and height gauges. Rotates through all the tasks required in a particular production process. Works at a variety of workstations and areas with other associates as required to meet customer needs. Explains assembly procedures or techniques to other associates. Maintains an orderly, safe, and clean workplace. Participates in cell meetings and events. May perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CREDENTIALS

High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Previous industrial assembly background is preferred, but not required, however a verifiable and solid work history is. Knowledge of gauging processes is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, safety rules, quality instruction and process documentation, operating and maintenance instructions, technical and procedure manuals. Ability to apply concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and/or apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
