Job Objective:

As the Senior Services Coordinator you will develop a comprehensive strategy to integrate a broad array of senior programming across program departments and will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of programing initiatives for the Salvation Army Kroc Center ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

What You Will Do:

  • In cooperation with various program department staff, schedule, develop curriculum, and implement senior programming throughout the Kroc Center
  • Work with the Membership Department to coordinate the recruitment and retention of senior members and guests, especially through third-party senior wellness incentive programs- and work to maximize utilization for consistent revenue.
  • Track outcomes and evaluate effectiveness and sustainability of senior programming using approved systems and processes
  • Cultivate strong relationship with external partners, vendors to support collaborative initiatives and expand programming opportunities.
  • Coordinate the planning and scheduling of programming activities, ensuring timely delivery
  • Conduct regular assessments of programming initiative to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education: Bachelor's degree in gerontology, social work or public health or equivalent experience

Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience: 3 to 5 years' experience working with seniors citizens or in programming and event coordination

Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm and CPR training within the first 30 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.

Supervisory Responsibility: Supervision of volunteers and program attendants

Travel: As Needed

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a office setting/community center.
