Job Description

This is a North America field-based customer facing role that will focus on building lasting strategic partnerships for IDEXX Water. The ability to interact with and influence the executive leadership and remote managers of assigned strategic accounts to deliver key annual objectives is core to the position's success. You will manage direct reports, assign work and evaluate results. You will support the development of the strategic account program, operating policies and procedures. It is important that you bring a "self-starter" strategic mindset to the team. The strategic accounts team will be a key resource for the core sales team and will provide commercial leadership. Your team will be expected to create and deliver business solutions to key C-Suite stakeholders. This may include presentations, detailed proposals and contract negotiation.

What can you expect?

You will be accountable for building a strategic account program that will be implemented across a matrixed commercial organization. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the revenue growth of an assigned group of strategic accounts. Several key activities that you will be responsible for include strategic contract management, C Suite engagement and adoption of strategic products within assigned accounts. This role will also be working cross functionally with product management to ensure our product and service portfolio meets the needs of the strategic accounts. As a commercial leader you will be expected to analyze data to provide forecasts, specific market insight and perform ad hoc requests from senior leadership.

In This Role:

  • Fully responsible to deliver a complex mix of objectives on a quarterly and annual basis for assigned corporate accounts
  • Manage negotiations in conjunction with relevant sales and finance teams, to achieve win-win and still maintain partner relationships
  • Achieve strong collaboration across IDEXX business units to ensure alignment on customer strategy and execution across country sales teams, leveraging different skills and capabilities across the IDEXX business.
  • Coach and develop team to develop strategic partnerships and position them for successful interactions with customers, per agreed upon strategies and approaches.
  • Maintain deep understanding and insight of the Water/wastewater market and account landscape.
  • Deliver business intelligence and recommendations to appropriate functional areas within IDEXX on progress, milestones, new ideas and roadblocks to achieve account objectives.
  • Conduct presentations, face-to-face meetings, and contract negotiations with assigned corporate accounts.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Typically, in-depth experience in area managed, 10+ years' management experience.
  • Strategic and Corporate Account leadership experience
  • Extensive industry and customer experience
  • Program and Project Management Skills
  • Strong Communication & Presentation Skills
  • Strong analytical skills and "data driven" decision making mentality
  • Deep understanding of strategic account management
  • Career aspirations for additional commercial leadership responsibility
  • Technical Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering preferred

Travel Requirements:

  • 50% travel required
