Thomson Reuters is seeking a to help grow CoCounsel, our state of the art AI legal assistant. As a Backend Engineer, you'll expand the capabilities of our chat service, CoCounsel's cross-product entry point. You'll collaborate with integrating teams to identify implementation patterns and developer pain points, and address them with improvements to our skill framework. You'll develop other shared services, including our vector search system. Our ideal candidate is curious, sympathetic, and flexible.

As the Backend Engineer You Will:

Develop CoCounsel's chat service.

Identify skill implementation patterns and developer pain points.

Develop resuable solutions for those patterns and alleviate those pain points.

Develop other shared services, including our vector search system.

Act as L3 support in an on-call rotation.

About You:

2+ years professional software engineering experience

You are proficient in Python, with recent professional experience

You are familiar with HTTP APIs, especially REST

You are familiar enough with SQL to design and query a basic table

You have an eye for simple, pragmatic code
